The Whales

A male whale and a female whale were swimming off
the coast of Japan when they noticed a whaling ship.

The male whale recognized it as the same ship that
had harpooned his father many years earlier. He said
to the female whale, "Let's both swim under the ship
and blow out of our air holes at the same time; and
it should cause the ship to turn over and sink."

They tried it, and sure enough, the ship turned over
and quickly sank.

Soon, however, the whales realized the sailors had
jumped overboard and were swimming to the safety of
shore. The male was enraged that they were going to
get away and told the female, "Let's swim after them
and gobble them up before they reach the shore."

At this point, he realized the female was becoming
reluctant to follow him.

"Look," she said, "I went along with the blow job,
but I absolutely refuse to swallow the seamen."

Free Energy Claim #868976

This from Ireland of all places:

"We have developed a technology that produces free, clean and constant energy.
This means never having to recharge your phone, never having to refuel your car. A world with an infinite supply of clean energy for all.

Our technology has been independently validated by engineers and scientists - always off the record, always proven to work."

See Steorn

(If it's so well proven why are the only validations "off the record"?)

Cancellations

I'm sick
It appears to be the same thing that Juz, Nic and Zoe have all had this week.
(Plus about another 3-4 people I have heard about)

One of the weird things about Darwin, once a flu or whatever hits, it seems to get a lot of people in rapid succession.
This of course is most likely just how it appears, due to the small popultion size and correspondingly low number of degrees of seperation between everyone.
(I think?)

I think I can feel some delerium coming on...

Oh yes - the title of this post.
As an indicator of how busy it is at this time of year, I wanted to point out that due to being sick I had to cancel not one but three engagements.

Zoe's birthday dinner
Bar work at Happy Yess
Camping with Julie

Apologies to all concerned, and Happy Birthday Zoe!

Big Lebowski Vs Fame

Ok - I had the party...
It was a bit stressy but I think everyone else had a good time.

Big Thanks to Justin, Nic, Ben, Kat, Damon, Mick, Mark, Ingers and everyone else who basically set the whole thing up.

Worthy costumes included Andy as The Jesus, Marlo as Maude Lebowski, Damon as The Dude's Landlord and I think best would have to have been Juzzy as Walter (see above).
There were also plenty of fabulous Fame-inspired costumes out there..lots of Dayglo and legwarmers, as expected.

If anyone has any more pictures could you please let me know?

Snowed Under

What with Rocketcar Day (which was a HUUUUGE success) plus planning for this weekend's coming partay..I haven't put any pics up for a while...they're coming.

Oh yeah and yesterday i went for a 250km ride with the Brothers Jung to Florence Falls and back...and the day before I drank solidly in post-RCD party mode from 2pm till 11pm...and I spent all day Saturday making rocket cars.

I still have to clean house and repair my deck/dancefloor by the weekend!

Good think I don't take paid work too seriously huh?
