Yes, I'm sick yet again.

If anyone knows what makes you really tired and not much else (symptom-wise), please let me know!

I'm holed up in a reasonable hotel (cable TV etc..!) basicaly killing time waiting for this to pass.

I'll spare you the details of all the medicine I've tried so far, but there's been a few.

I'm about to try and put some pics up, so the post above this will hopefully be a bit more interesting.

6 hur bus trip from Sagada to Baguio... stayed overnight...another 6 hours to Dau/Angeles..stayed overnight...flew Clark to Cebu...boat to Tagbilaran....

Been hanging with Ray and Co..

Some Uncle died and his(open) coffin has been in the loungeroom all week..

Freaky.

Changed $200, cash advanced 4000piso.... Bought 3800 piso ticket on CC..

Pics are on CD now, but no time/inclination to edit/put them up just yet.

Howdy from Mountain Province

I got up here a couple of days after that last post below..but happily there is no internet in the village where I am staying.

Very chilled...also a bit chilly at night, which is a bonus.

Can live here reasonably well for less than $100/week which is a good pointer as to how long my trip could last.

To all of you that have commented on the blog etc...sorry but for now I have no address book or anything like that..so I can only reply to emails that I get.

No easy way to put pictures up either...I'm in a room with 20+ people all running off one phoneline, so forget about anything that time-consuming.

I'm well..a bit crook in the guts but nothing serious I think.

I _may_ be in a better position for communication in a week or so..no promises though.

Costing a bit too much for my liking, not helped by Ray's insistance on qualitay accomodation.

Hi from Manila, Philippines

Ok this update may come as a shock to some of you...I had to hold off on it for a while.

I quit my job!
(I may have mentioned that below, but here's the details anyway)

I was looking for an excuse to have a bit longer off than the 2 weeks I had planned for this trip.

As you may know, spending > $1000 on a plane ticket for a 2-3 weeks trip is just FOOLISH! So of course the logical extension of this line of thought is to lose the job and go on an almost open-ended trip.

Strange timing when you consider that I just settled on my property in katherine, and i should be slaving away to make mortgage repayments.

However, you have to consider this conundrum with DaveLogic(TM) which goes something like: "When in doubt, do the least resonsible, least mature thing"

So here I am in Manila.
For now this blog will just be about this trip, which will include a bit around the Philippines, a bit in Thailand, and maybe some other exotic places if I feel inclined/have enough $$.

I tried to get some pictures up here from a party we had last Friday...but in usual Dave style I left EVRYTHING to the last day..including cleaning out one of my rooms to rent out.

Something had to give.
On that note I'd also like to apologise for being a big ball of stress for the last couple of weeks/months..if I was a c*nt to anyone I would like to apologise.

I want to say thanks to Sophie for helping me get my shit together at the last minute.

Anyway...in a few months (or sooner if I get the pics mailed to me) you will have the pleasure? of seeing some of my friends and I in some truly disgusting 80s outfits.

Oh yeah, I just bought a new $500 digital camera..this one has video! I finally made it into the 21st century. It's a Canon A95 for those that are interested. (Thanks for the tip, E)

If I can work out a way, I will try and post some videos up here.

Gotta go; I'm off to rescue Raynard from the clutches of Angeles City and head north to Bagio.
