Sunburnt

Yes indeed, he who never burns is a lobster!

Was out all day yesterday with the Dinah Beach Crusing Yacht Club...don't you know.

Kinda helping marshall a yacht race...or that was our excuse for being out on a huuuge motorboat with free beer and food.

Basically all Tim and I did was tie a few knots, guide the boat through the lock and deploy and retrieve a rather large inflatable buoy.

Not a bad effort considering the day before.

After the previously mentioned videoclip was filmed (see last post) I was more than a bit drunk. That's the "problem" with sitting in a bar and _pretending_ to drink lots of beer.

So I met up with Tim afterwards, and went to see my team (Collingwood) get pumped by the other guys. Also presrnt were Lango, Hoges, Jodie & Byron.

Very hot and muggy until the second half when there was a half-decent drizzle for 30 minutes or so.
We were stationed at the boundary fence, near the goalsquare.

My "Go Pies" and "Carna Maggies" signs obviously weren't good enough to inspire them.

So we got a taxi into town with a _psycho_ driver who's girlfriend works in town at a stripbar...he drove like a maniac, which was pretty funny in our enebriated states.

Hung at Kongo for a few hours then had an early one, in prep for the Sunday harbour mission.

I'm off to jump in the shower..for some reason the saltwater pool is making me itch.
Time to dump some more chemicals in it,no doubt.

Saturday

About to head out to play a bogan in my friend's band's video clip.

Should be interesting..I have been growing a dodgy chopper mo in preperation, and will be wearing my best? ACDC t-shirt.

Here's a random link for you:

RIP Hunter S. Thompson

Gonzo's gone to the big campaign bus in the sky.

Random Stuff

Random is a word used a lot in the Darwin vocabulary, usually to describe a person's behaviour, or certain events.

(He/She's pretty random....or....Yeah it was a pretty random night at the party)

I haven't quite got the definition right, and there are better examples..but it's the best I can do at 1230am.

So here's some random stuff that happened today:

I had a _bizarre_ dream where I was (working) in some kind of corporate environment, and somehow I thought it'd be funny to stooge the execs into believing it was "Lingerie Day"

Don't ask where this came from!

Anyway cut to the next scene in the dream, and here's me cracking up laughing at some manager type guy, who's wearing a nice little leopardskin teddy (with regulation suit pants underneath)

Me: "Hahah, sucked in!"

What the hell is that all about?

I'm sure one of you will give me a reasonable analysis of this dream?

So then this evening I stop at the Fury with Nic for a cuppla post-shopping bevvies...as we walk in the front, I do a double-take at this guy sitting out the front. I recognise him from somewhere (instantly)...I'm mumbling names to myself...then I get it, he was at my school in 1985/86 (St Leonards)

That was 19 YEARS AGO!

Rather than go and tap him on the shoulder, I cunningly walked out past him again, stared at him for a second..then asked him "Hey mate, did you go to school in Melbourne?"

Anyway his name's Michael Stitfold, buggered if I know how I managed to dredge that out of my cesspit brain..but as I have said before I am very good at retaining a LOT of useless information.

That's it for today's installment...pretty random huh?

Chastised

is how I'm feeling today (see comments beloe previous entry).

I'm trying to get fit/healthy/productive lately.
Got off the pot, started weekly tennis, play chess every Thursday night, try to get out sailing once every couple of weeks minimum.

So this has dropped in my list of priorities, partly because I don't get very much feedback. (Being the attention pig that I am, it's important to me :) )

Anyway...I'm back in Darwin refreshed and on some kind of mission of self-improvement.

Tired at the moment from excess partying last night.

(You'll notice that nowhere above do I mention a drop in my levels of alcohol consumption!)
